Warm weather

The weather was beautiful, so we spent Saturday outside. Nana came and visited and our neighbors Steve, Amy and Addison came to hang out. Jace was hanging out on his blanket that Pops and Mammie got him for Christmas, when we thought...."Lets put Addison the blanket too. Might give us some great photo opportunities." Well as you can see, it did!!!!!

Easter

Jace experienced his first Easter on Sunday...........and the Easter Bunny was very generous. The Easter Bunny made multiple deliveries at many different houses.........Nana's, Mammie and Pops, Grandma Annie's, Grammy, and Addison's. The Easter Bunny left many things for Jace at our house, and among them was a piggy bank. He also hide eggs so Daddy and Jace hunted for the eggs.
He is getting so big. He has 2 teeth now. He really could care less about sitting on his own. He loves to roll around the floor. If you leave the room, just for a few seconds, you may find that he has rolled himself under something.
We can't wait for warm weather to take walks and play outside.

6 months

Half-way point to a year. It is still unbelievable. At least once a week, I think "wow, I can't even believe he is MINE" (well, and Jarrod's). Jarrod and Jace have got to spend a lot of time together, since Jarrod has been laid off. That is the PRO to not working, and we all know what the CON is. But it has definately given Jarrod the opportunity to see his son grow before his eyes.
He is now 6 months. He can sit up in the "tripod" position, before falling over. I am very excited because there is a whole new world, sitting upright. We are now at the point of not be able to leave him on the floor unattended, because you will find that he has rolled himself under something. But what a fun adventure for him.
At our doctor's appointment, he weighed 17lbs 6oz. and was 27 inches long. He is such a big boy, that he only cried a little after his shots.
He still is sleeping through the night, and takes all of his naps in his crib, too. (We have graduated from the swing) He talks a lot and has moved on to BA BA BA and DA DA DA........no MA MA MA, yet.
As a family we started going to church, and plan on Jace's Baptism, May 18th. His godparents are my cousins, Cindy and Wes. We are so blessed to have to wonderful people in Jace's life.
I anticipate that Jace will be advancing in mobility soon, with crawling and the use of a walker, so the excitement is just beginning. More to come in a month.

5 months

It is so hard to believe that he is that old. They say time flies when you are having fun.......and we are having a blast. Besides rolling over every chance he gets, Jace is eating like a big boy. As you can see, he doesn't miss a meal. He has now advanced to oatmeal, banana's, pea's, carrot's and applesauce. He gets a new food added every 4 days, and so far loves them all. Jace has decided that he prefers to sleep on his belly. He now squeals with delight, and talks often. He smiles at Jarrod and I everytime he see's us...daddy melts. Dozer and Diezel love him. Dozer especially because he tries to clean up all the formula/cereal he spits up. His new favorite toy is his Jumperoo, or as Aunt Tetie calls it Jumper-ooooooo. That brings Jarrod and I much entertainment...who needs cable? We got to make an unexpected trip to his doctor for pink eye and an ear ache. They weighed him---16 lbs, 2 oz. Can't wait to see what new adventure this month brings. Check back to find out!

Day Care, Christmas, and 4 months

Well...so much has gone on. First, Jace was kicked out of his first daycare. At 3 months, he was "too needy". So we have now found a daycare where he is loved and taken wonderful care of. I can just tell how comfortable and happy he is there. It is also the daycare that his girlfriend, Addison, attends.
Santa (& our family and friends) have thought that Jace was a very good boy. It is evidenced by all the gifts. He has received gifts from Addison, Grammy and Grandpa Davis, my family (cousins and Aunts & Uncles)in Ohio, Grandma Annie and Grandpa Scotty, Uncle Bill and & Aunt Lisa, both Great Grandparents, Aunt Jen & family, Tetee and family........and then, the grandparents. We still have to celebrate with my dad, or Pops-to Jace. He has received tons of toys, clothes, a car seat, and money. Aunt Jen stopped in Knoxville on her trip up, and went nuts. GO VOLS! Mommy and Daddy left cookies for Santa and carrots for the Reindeer. Rudulph left half a carrot. Daddy read T'was the Night Before Christmas, that was a gift from Great Uncle Jim & Great Aunt Phyliss. Great traditions were started. Can't wait for years to come.

On 1/2, Jace turned 4 months. He had a check up on 1/5. He weighed 14 lbs 15 oz, and was 26 inches long. He began to eat cereal, by spoon, but still doesn't know what to think about it. A big moment in our life.......Jace turned over, twice, from belly to back on 1/10. He then turned over from back to stomach on 1/18. On the morning of 1/22, I found him, talking to himself, in his crib, on his stomach. I am so glad that wasn't his first time. Now we just need to catch it on video tape. I will post pictures with his 5 month blog....check back to see how big he is

3 months

Jace is now 3 months old. He has experienced his first Thanksgiving, a 3 month photo shoot (from a professional), and met Santa on Sunday. Daddy was trying to get Jace to ask Santa for a Plasma TV and X-Box 360. I don't think Santa will be bringing these items to the Lee house.
Jace is such a good boy. He is now on a 4x day eating schedule and sleeps in his own crib all through the night. He lays down around 8 or 9 and awakes around 7 or 8.
He will begin daycare this week. I am excited for him, to get additional stimulation than what Jarrod and I provide.
We did have a little incident in Mid-November. I was home alone and tried to cut Jace's finger nails for the first time----unsuccessfully. I clipped his skin, and it bled a lot. I mean a lot-for 45 min. At one point he was sleeping on my chest, and the blood had soaked through the bandage, through the burp rag and was running down my chest. I pulled Jace back and he did not wake up. I attempted to wake him up for what seemed liked forever, but was probably only 30 sec. I called my girlfriend Annie,(Grandma Annie),and said I needed her to come over. After hanging up the phone, Jace began crying, to my relief. We bandaged his finger and the bleeding stopped. I had stated that I will never cut his fingernails until he was 18 years old....you would find him in the Guinness Book of World Records. But actually, I have cut his nails, successfully, since.

2 months old

Jace turned 2 months old on November 2nd. Jarrod and I are still pinching ourselves. We can't believe we actually are parents to this beautiful baby boy. He is not taking a feed through the night, but still thinks he should wake up around 3am. He quickly goes back to sleep after 20 minutes. He is now 14lbs and is 25 long---both are in the 95% percentile on the growth chart.

Ghosts, pumpkins and Jace

Halloween is quickly approaching. Jarrod and I are decorating with ghosts, a cemetary, and spiders. Jace and I have carved our pumpkins, and Jarrod will be doing his shortly. We are planning a weenie roast halloween night, while we pass out candy. Our neighbors and friends will be joining us. Jace will be a giraffe!!

Jace has started grabbing things this week......my hair mostly. He also spends alot of his time sucking on his left hand. I wonder if that means he will like his Aunt Jen, left handed. He still wants to eat all the time, and is now taking 6 oz, about every 4-4 1/2 hours. His next appt. is 11/3. He smiles a lot now. He has made friends with our ceiling fan, and laughs at often.

Pumpkin Patch and Riley Days

On 10/5, Jace experienced his first trip to the Riley Days festival. The weather was absolutely beautiful and it wasn't that crowded. Following Riley Days, we took Jace to a pumpkin patch so he could get his first pumpkin. There was a hay ride, but we decided that Jace was a little too young. Maybe next year. Jace picked out his pumpkin, and Daddy will help him carve it.

1 MONTH OLD

Jace turned one month on 10/2. He is getting so big, and we were very anxious to see his weight at his one month check up. On Friday 10/3, Jace and mommy made their first outing together. Mom was pretty anxious. We traveled to my post partum check-up, then to Grandma Annie's. Then we shopped at Hobby Lobby before going to Jace's doctor's appt. He was the best baby all morning until we stepped into the doctor's waiting room. He started wailing......I guess he thought that he needed to eat or he was going to starve. Needless to say, he cried all during the appt., during check out, walking back to the car and 5 minutes during the drive home, until he fell asleep.
During his appt., his weight was 11 lbs 15oz, which is 95% for weight. He only grew 1/4 inch in height since birth. He loves to eat, but at this point, just is filling out. He does not look like a Michelin baby---YET. They switched his formula, which has allowed for feeds to occur about every 3 hours, still at 4 ounces.
He has alot of moments during the day where he is awake. As long as he is not hungry or dirty, he will just sit and entertain himself......I wonder what he is thinking. He now smiles when you talk to him. It just makes us melt. Jarrod and I spend many moments just staring at him. We think he is beautiful.

Jace Thomas Lee

Jace Thomas Lee, born 9/2/08 at 1:15am. He was born c-section after 30 hours of labor, due to failure to progress (I didn't dilate all the way). Throughout the day, the doctor, kept indicating, that he may to be too big. Finally, we opted for a c-section. During the operation, I would here comments like "wow, his head is jammed in there" and "man this is a big baby". Finally, he was born and we were told that we were now the proud parents of baby boy. We were emotional and very excited.
Due to an unexpected illness with myself, Jarrod had to jump right in as the primary care provider. Jarrod is just a wonderul Daddy!!!! He helps in any way possible and has changed many more diapers than me.
Jarrod is back at work this week, and looks forward everyday to come home and see his little boy.

We took Jace for his first doctor's visit on Monday. He weighed 2 ounces more than his birth weight, which is uncommon. The doctor was completely surprised, as he had lost so much weight in the hospital. Jace is a little piggy, and eats every 2 hours, 3 ounces. Everyday is new adventure. He smiles alot, and maybe will have dimples.

Hi all, Welcome to the new Lee Family website. This is an easy way to update all our friends and families with pictures and anecdote of our newest Lil' Lee.
As of today, 8/28, I am now 4 days overdue.........but feeling well. I have a planned induction, to start the evening of 8/31. We are expecting to meet our new bundle of joy on 9/1. We are very excited, and can't wait to see if we will be greeting Jace or Jameson. We will post pictures as soon as possible, so check back sometime next week.
